ABS Board Descriptions

Executive Board Positions

Elected by Membership

President.png

Preside over all meetings of membership, the Board, maintain a working knowledge of club activities. Serve on the various committees & be an advocate of ABS.

Assist the President, work with members of the Executive Board & committee chairs.

Organize & plan luncheons, to include setting up & working with vendors, coordinating with reservations & hospitality.

Record & post minutes of board meetings, report forms to Installation Commander, & record all Board votes. Create board meeting agendas. Create the board members email roster, keep it updated, oversee the master list of ABS email addresses & passwords. Responsible for the ABS PO box & checking the mail & signing out mailbox keys to board members. Responsible for checking the main ABS email address & responding to inquiries & forwarding emails to board members.

Primary signer of checks for ABS, prepare monthly reports as well as yearly budget, deposit & collect money.  File annual taxes in October with the accountant.  Oversee all financial aspects of ABS.

Appointed Chairperson Positions

Maintain stock & inventory for the store, manage the Committee and Consignors.

Recruit internal club leaders, promote clubs to members, assist club leaders, regularly monitor ABS website to add new members to club accounts. Provide info on activities for Newsletter & Facebook.

Coordinate the September Membership Drive, oversee membership sign up at quarterly socials, maintain membership roster.

Coordinate with other non-profits in the community to provide opportunities for our members to give back through donation drives or outreach projects.

Advise President & members on parliamentary procedure, oversee voting & election procedures.

Purchase, request, rent & maintain inventory of all property items.

Create & provide posters, press releases & flyers for all things related to ABS. Maintain & update Facebook, Instagra. Maintain & update the WIX website & forms. Prepare monthly Bits N' Bragg Newsletter online & deliver via email to members.

Prepare & update applications for scholarships. Publicize scholarships, & pick selection committee. Plan recognition ceremony.

Oversee Fundraisers, follow up, & make sure all money is being used appropriately.

Set up & organize with volunteers for members to tour the historic Normandy neighborhood homes during the Holidays.

Attend OPOC course & keep record of all volunteer hours via VMIS, prepare certificates & arrange for appropriate awards, create & maintain a volunteer schedule for ABS events via the ABS website.

Develop a donation request form, evaluate all requests & follow up to make sure all money is being used correctly.

*All positions require a commitment to attend Board Meetings in addition to performing the duties of the position.
